I know this now. Every man gives his life for what he believes. Every woman gives her life for what she believes. Sometimes people believe in little or nothing yet they give their lives to that little or nothing. One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. And then it is gone. But to sacrifice what you are and live without belief, that's more terrible than dying.
Joan of Arc
Cool building, but I think the composition needs a bit of tweaking. I don't know what else surrounds the Parthenon, but having it smaller and off-centered in the picture would make a much more interesting wallpaper.
There are parking lots and lights just about all around it... so it was pretty hard to get a clean shot of it...
I like some of the other shots better (check my profile for the other one I uploaded a while back) but someone ask to see the whole building and this was the only shot I had developed.
Ahhh, home sweet home of music! I live a short way from Nashville and I love all the Greek architecture that has been incorporated into the city. It supports the background we have for the arts!
WOW...i am not only saying this "just to write something"...really a simple scene but an effective angle and a perfect contrast i suppose you edited colours a bit at an editor.Simple yet great shot..
Yes this was an edited version. I uploaded it as a request on short notice, not planning on it sticking around - but it has gotten such high ratings that I didn't want to take it off to re-edit it.
I know how hard it was to get a nice shot of the Parthenon, or anywhere in Centennial Park, as I live (part time) near Nashville, myself. I really like the fact that it's just the building and nothing else, especially since every time I have been there it's been covered in scaffolding. I had second thoughts about the replication of such an iconic building, myself, but since Nashville has done such a beautiful job of constructing a new Parthenon, I love it. I wonder if there's any possibility of getting a shot of the huge statue of Athena that's inside of the building? I haven't been in there in a while so I don't know if they allow pictures...I'm sorry that I found this picture so late!
Nashville has a Parthenon???? A remake I presume...but it's a bit odd. Nashville...hmmmm....weird... Anyway, I like how you captured the sky in this one.
I see the real Parthenon in Greece, everyday on my way to work but I still like this foto! I have never heard of Nashville before but they sure have a great taste in buildings! :0)
