Hops have a unique visual appeal. What are technically known as the cones are modest and monochromatic, but still give the impression of flowers. I snapped this shot on impulse and didn't plan (or expect) an appealing composition. If I had known I'd later want it to be viable as an art piece, I could have expended some effort in making it sharper.

You're right, they look like green flowers. Living in California where it never rains, I especially love the greens in this shot.

Welcome to Caedes. So that's what hops look like. I know they're an ingredient in beer but never saw them on the vine. I wonder who figured out that this plant would make a good drink. Thanks for taking the time to provide a detailed description.

I really enjoy this image, it's very lively but not overly busy. I think it has great texture and great composition. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thank you. Like a lot of good things, I wouldn't be surprised if beer was discovered largely by accident. Who knows, but even the Egyptians had it figured out.

I have always been fascinated by the plant and have used it in making Autumn wreaths.

I only wish the depth of field was a little deeper here. Thanks for the feedback!
