It just amazed me how these things thrived up here on the rocks without any soil. Shot this on my hike to Devil's Bridge in Sedona AZ. (possibly my entry into the contest? Still haven't quite decided... time's ticking tho!) ......................................(edit)...Okay, I finally decided, it's in :)

Just a little soil gets caught in the cracks and Wallah!,Nature takes over..This would be a worthy contender..R.

It would be a great entry, Lisa. I do the same thing...wait until the last minute to decide. lol If I wait long enough there won't be an entry. lol I love the ebony look of the tree bark and the graceful limbs. It looks like the tree might walk away were it not rooted in the rock which has such nice color and texture.

I need some of that rock in my yard. Maybe then I could get something to grow. LOL. Very cool shot, Lisa. I think it would be a great entry.

Perfectly shot Lisa...I think I would find it a bit daunting being up there!

This shot really caught my eye. I like the post production, to really fizz the colours!

Nice composition! I always liked the Twisted Foliage of the Drier climates, and the Rock provides a Stunning contrast. Very thoughtful!

Going off the recent tree shots you have been posting, I think this one could actually have crawled up there to get a better view lol.
