Juneau, Alaska, USA. Imagine the life of a seal - all day lounging lazily on a channel buoy, looking at tourists gawking at them, with an occasional swim and loud groaning effort to climb back up on the buoy - while missing the landscape of mountains, ice fields and glacier. Enjoy!

It just burns me up to see my tax dollars go to those lazy seals living on the government buoy. lol. Not really! Great picture Thad. The seals on the buoy and the clouds on the mountain range are both extraordinary.

Ah now i was going to suggest that maybe the composition could have been improved slightly by getting the buoy to be a little left of centre on your last post but then i saw that there was more than one and thought i would hold fire! Seems i was right to do so as you are way ahead of me! I still find there is a little too much open water in the foreground and think it would be a little better if some was cropped out. I think i prefer the composition in this one but you cant see the seals so well and therefore something feels lost. Clarity, focus and colour are still perfect as is that scenery! I am so jealous Thad, i now have wanderlust. Alaska is now on my 'places that are mandatory to visit' list!

I suspect polar bears take them out to lunch regularly Thad. That is some view they have. Your trip has been most beneficial for us.

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.
Considering what is trying to eat them in those waters, being buoyed might not be such a bad thing. And relocating to the mountains might not be too bad of an idea either. Though I'm sure people would complain about them taking all the ski lift seats to stay safe from the bears and wolves.
