Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska, USA. Another calving within the perspective of a wider view of the Margerie Glacier winding its way twenty-one miles down the mountain valley from the ice fields. Enjoy!

The background to this is as beautiful as the cracking ice.

It is like you have captured time or perhaps frozen time Thad. The scene is very majestic. Top honors to you.

For some reason the background helps put the size of the glacier into some sort of perspective. That's a big chunk of ice. Beautifully captured.

I like this image better Thad although here the active calving is not so much. Good capture with the mountains and ice covered valleys behind.

Can almost repeat my comment given on your previous post Thad. Love this wider view too. Done very well again.

An interesting name for this process. I'm also wondering who it is that names the glaciers. Such a scene, well saved for the memory book. Was it cold enough for jackets when you were here watching this take place?

Well hush my mouth that is gorgeous! I like the view of the mountain in the center above the glacier. I have to get there some day! Great shot, Thad.

A nice sense of scale in this photo of the glacier. A terrific looking scene and capture.
