Westbrook, Connecticut, USA. Susanne - Just as clouds draw their strength from the bodies of water, may you find strength from many friends who surround you, and know that a greater power is helping you find this strength.
That sure is a true and sincere statement, Thad, and reflects my wish for Susanne. I don't know when the term 'awful' came to mean something not good as 'awesome' came to take its place, but based on the #3 meaning of awful as given by Dictionary.com of something being "solemnly impressive; inspiring awe", I find this to be a most 'awful' and "awesome" image, Thad.
Beautiful use of light and a nice case of being in the right place at the right time. It's quite an inspiration photo and matches the sentiment in your narrative.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
It is always a blessing that a person has their camera when a scene like this presents itself Thad. A good message from you and the true architect of the scene.
Add my Wow to the chorus, Thad. Beautiful lighting in the scene and a lovely capture of the rays shining through the sky. An excellent posting for Susanne.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
