The Loomis Homestead is the oldest house in Windsor, Connecticut, USA, located on the campus of Loomis Chaffee School. The oldest part of the house is now the south ell, built by Joseph Loomis in 1640. His son, Deacon John Loomis built the main section in 1788.

A great looking scene and capture Thad. The old homestead has withstood the test of time. Good lighting and shading in the photo and nice clarity. A wonderful job.

I like the treatment you gave this old homestead, Thad. Very old, even for Connecticut... I thought I saw Jacob Loomis walk past the original section of the house but then I usually see a lot of ghosts in New England...

A fabulous image Thad. What really caught my eye, other then the neutral tones which only add immensely to the overall image mystique was the way the light hits the tree in the 'bg' with the streak of bright light showing up on the right hand side and how it is peeking out along the edge paralleling the larger tree in the foreground. Was that planned or just coincidence?? Outstanding post-work as well.

The sepia tones add an air of nostaligia which I really like.
Well composed with beautiful shadows and an image to set thoughts in motion.

Would you consider entering it in the B/W Challenge
It would be a fine addition :)

Nice job, Thad. You made the image show it's age, and it's really old for a frame building.

Stunning photo of this beautiful old home. The lighting, for some odd reason, made me think of the old Wizard Of Oz movie, just before the tornado rips the home and Dorothy from the foundation. Bravo!

The thing that goes the farthest, towards making life worthwhile, it costs the least and does the most, is just a pleasant smile.
