Charlottesville, Virginia, USA. Using European cuttings, Jefferson planted two vineyards near and among his orchard trees. It was one of the few items with which he did not have much success. However, he shared cuttings with other growers that established wine production in the Virginia commonwealth.

I was hoping we would get to see a separate shot of the vineyard, Thad. Beautiful fall colors in the background.
It almost looks like a lot of crosses in a cemetery from this angle.

Mr. Jefferson was a very versatile person, but think to be a 'chevalier du tastevin' was somewhat too much for him, lol.

Thanks for another fine addition to the series Thad.

Wonderful fall colors along with the vineyard Thad - surprised he was not successful as he was quite a master horticulturist.

Love this angle.
And would like to request you to repeat this image during the harvest period, ie in August I believe, although I might be wrong as to the timing:)

Beautiful autumnal shot Thad of the vineyard. I was also surprised to know that Mr. Jefferson was not successful with the vineyards - perhaps the terroir wasn't conducive toward his endeavors. Excellent work!!!

Maybe he was too busy planting seeds elsewhere to give the vineyards his full attention.
Great colours and composition of the scene, Thad.
