The expression IS priceless, yes! The edging kind of obscures the action and reaction. Have you considered cropping in so there's face and hands but much less t-shirt and chair? Just fiddling with index cards and monitor here -- cropping in seems to push this one far from any hint of "snapshottery." The fair and dark skin tones come to the fore then, too.
