Only thing I would suggest is to be careful of how much sunlight get onto the flower. It's a bit "white" towards the bottom of the photo. But it's a gorgeous shot...Verena

Thanks for the feedback. It was so bright that day that I was having a hard time seeing the shot. Haven't been to Portland yet--close--Vancouver. Maybe next time I'll make it across the river.

Wow...Nice Macro shot .. I agree with Verena it is a bit white towards the bottom of the flower. But the detail of the Poppy is real nice .. great job.

The light/white out of focus petal cab be cloned in with surrounding colour fairly easily. A small crop along the top and right borders will improve balance and composition. Also a slight application of negative Gamma will give more body to the overall presentation.
It's a good and interesting shot.
