The purple Iris stands alone in beauty that's for sure, and you captured it so beautifully! I took some shots of the Iris around the Portland area yesterday. Many different colours. So very pretty. Verena
While these are very pretty flowers, some of the impact is lost in the overall business of the whole. More concentration on the foremost bloom can be achieved by cropping the far right petal up to the edge of the next full one, and crop the bottom border very close to the lowest petal. Also a small application of negative Gamma just slightly darkens the overall image, increasing the detail in the tonal range. The crops may seem inconsequential but try it and toggle between the two images and I think you'll see the difference in overall presentation and balance.
It's the proximity of the highest petal, touching the upper border that disturbs the balance, and cropping the right and bottom borders minimizes that effect.
the blue is beautiful. not everyone has to be a critic, but you could try few more shots of those beautiful flowers, and play with the imagery... i thought it wouldt be great...
