I am back home now but the vacation was a dud. The Big Cedar Lodge is about 60 miles Southeast of Joplin Missouri as the crow flies. Joplin is where a awful tornado killed 138 peope many lives were shattered in that one night so in the big scheme of things a car is no big deal. There was about 36 hours of tornado's, thunderstorm and lightning warnings. We had a room on the 4th floor which is the highest point at the resort...but hey I am still alive but it was a night to remember! Gosh...there was so much flooding they opened Table Rock Lake Dam and I got pic's of that...very impressive! It was the most wild and woolly vacation I have taken in eons Here are some pic's of the car after hail damage. It happened over a month ago and it's still sitting in the garage a mess... beside the broken window the car is covered with large dents everywhere. It's almost impossible to find anyone to fix even the window since they have such a huge back log. I wish the insurance company would just hand me a big check so I could go out and buy a new car...fat chance of that happening, but I don't think my car will look show room new ever again.

I have experienced severe storms at sea a number of times Diane but I can imagine that a tornado is worse than all that. So sad for the families who lost their near and dear ones and their homes. You were lucky because 60 miles is nothing when a tornado changes course. Hope you can get the car fixed.

Glad to hear you survived your vacation Diane. I was tracking the storm and figured you were in for some really bad weather. Like you said the car window is bad but nothing compared to loss of life of family and friends.

The hail really did a number on your car, didn't it? That's a shame. I have been wondering if you ran into the bad storms out there. I'm glad you are OK.

I remember your pm when you mentioned the car, it's a shame you can't find anyone to replace the back window as a temporary measure. It seems there are plenty of people in the same boat ! We've all heard about Joplin in the UK, what an awful loss of life.

Good post Diane, & keep looking forward, best wishes Phil

---but hey I am still alive---

And that's far more important than material goods. If the insurance company is a tad helpful, you'll soon have a new or renewed car, Diane. Please, give me their phonenumber, and I'll give it a try, lol.

Regards, Cornelius.

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
