Marie - You got a nice shot of the city from the river bridge. The steelwork in the foreground and the building on the left contrast with the much newer skyscrapers. Though we can't control the weather, the gray sky doesn't offer the pop that would make the picture a notch up. Thad
It is a nice shot, Marie. The bright overcast lighting works very well here, as it does for available light portraiture.
You can make it more dynamic with a few editing applications.
The perspective can use a slight correction, the blank sky can be filled in with a very pale blue or gray, and a bit of contrast and slight reduction in exposure(Gamma) gives it greater impact.
Very nice capture..I agree...the sky is what you were given...maybe a sky replacement there and a little more contrast to bring out the different colors more.....Would love to see this as a night shot.
Well it's true that the sky is very hard to work with on days like that. But, when this happens, you can either augment your shutter speed or digitally correct the exposure on your camera. The composition is good though!
