Hi Friends, On a country road... on a beautiful day... I noticed this lovely 'field' of glads....and as I stood there in awe, at the heavenly array of colors before me, a 'friendly farmer' and his wife approached me.....;o) It would seem as though they had offered me everything but 'tea', and I am sure that even that was forthcomimg given a brief moment.... they graciously offered me a few dozen gladioluses, and with such enthusiasm, I could hardly believe.... I was enchanted with their charm..... I accepted them with pleasure, as I knew each flower had been touched by their hearts..... and as I walked away, they invited me to return for another visit......and with smiles that literally made their faces vanish......;o) What an enriching experience it was..... And there's still people who don't believe angels walk the earth! It sounds like you have just met two of these.. and found the most heavenly flowers. Beautifull, and you did a good job capturing them. Thanks for sharing this picture as well as the story behind it.

I have always had the feeling that these flowers were named "glads" for a definite reason and also that they grew well for some and not for others..and your narrative bears this feeling out :)

Oh Marilyn....I don't know which I like more, the flowers or the story...how sweet that was. And the colours of these beauties are just fantatic. I would think YOUR smile was even bigger then theirs my friend!! You must have been so delighted with the whole experience. And for sure, it makes one realize how important it is to be able to be "out and about" to capture such wonderful photos and meet sweet people...thank you so much...Verena
