I will greet you with only a soft smile today....as we are made mindful of those many long suffering souls who are still...... living with unforgettable pain....my heart...like many of yours'....reach out to them..... On this very sad day of rememberance...I will send you a garden of tulips to help guide the way...to lightened the ways of the millions of broken hearts that still carry the burden of lost loved ones....lost in the incomprehensible tragedy of '911'...2001... May their burdens be lifted ....may their hearts obsorb the spirits... of those who have passed...their sacrificial spirits...to help us carry on...with tenacity...and to help rebuild the courage and fortitude of those left behind...so needed to battle the fear and the sorrow of terrorism... with success and finality.... I pray.... Marilyn

A beautiful post Marilyn, so very thoughtful. I don't even have the words to describe the sadness I felt that day. My prayers are forever with those who suffered.

Oh Marilyn, leave it up to you to show us and remind us of that day. I too thought of that time six years ago. A day to bring to mind not only the horror that can take place, and the type of people who cause pain to so so many. But also to remind us that people are good to each other, people who stand tall and proud and give each other and all of us so much strength and hope.
So often we fail to appreciate what we have each day. Then the reminders such as 911 come along and we can pause a moment or two and be grateful not only for us but for those who came thru that time, even tho they had losses we cannot even begin to imagine. Thank you my dear friend for those beautiful little flowers, they for sure look like candles of hope..Verena

You've done a marvellous job in commemorating that day and the precious lives lost with this beautiful image, Marilyn...the soft glow coming from the flowers seems as if they are lit by the presence of angels...profoundly moving...favs.

Beautiful tribute to this sad event. Ironically 9-11-01 was also my 30th wedding anniversary so each new anniversary must share joy with sorrow. My Parents anniversary was Dec. 7th. A weird trend for sure. Great soft and beautiful floral image.

This is a beautiful tribute to all who lost their lives on the horrific day Marilyn. The way the flowers glow reminds me of the spirits of the souls that were lost that day....they are still shining bright, just in a different place.
The white represents the purity of the innocent people who were caught so unaware by the truly incomprehensible acts of terror that day.
May the spirits of the souls lost that day continue to glow and shine each and every day.
Thank you for remembering and thank you for sharing this beautiful image with us.
It is on my desktop and in my favorites ;=)

Immediately when I saw your image here Marilyn ... the first thought that came to mind ... was the flowers seemed to be emanating a glow ... a light cast skywards.

Quite fitting in my mind and keeping with the design and architecture of the monument; Reflecting Absence ... the winning proposal for the World Trade Center site memorial.

A poignant and beautiful tribute ... and your narrative is a most heartfelt accompaniment.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts ... and this lovely image.
