Hi friends..... I took this image along with a few others this morning.... following a rain...thinking the entire time...that the colors were just too pale... But then.... Photoshop stepped in and came to my rescue...;o) Whew...that was close!! In my view...the photo appears as though it represents an early show of seasonal color........teasing...of course...as the leaves were really quite pale and void of color.... Our last two rains...were responsible...at least in Lansing MI! Please enjoy...and thank you...Marilyn

Being born and raised in Michigan (and having lived in Lansing), I had this fantasy: All deciduous trees would get their best color on the same night. The next day would be a State Holiday, so everyone could enjoy the spectacle. One month later, all the leaves would drop from the trees, and that day would be a Holiday, too, so folks could rake leaves! Hey, sounds reasonable to me.... Beautiful photo!

Marilyn, I don't know if you're old enough to remember those 1970s commercials for Chiffon magarine (see HERE) -- where the punch line was: "It's not nice to fool Mother Nature!" But I think you deserve a dispensation for this one, because it looks just great, and I wouldn't have known what you'd done if you hadn't mentioned it. It's definitely been an "off" year for fall coloration. Nice job!

Pictures like this make me yearn for a change in seasons. Living in Florida, we don't get to see this much. Love the color variations, which are brought out by the dark tree bark.

This looks good Marilyn. I don't even think PhotoShop could pump enough color out of the dead trees we have here this year. :(
i love the natural arch that appears in this image. The colors are not over-saturated and appear as though they have been kissed my Mother Nature ever so softly :)
thanks for sharing this with me ;=)

I'll tell you what, no doubt in my mind that this is a keeper for me. But I think the perspective needs to be changed. Cut off the tree trunks and just have the leaves or include some of the ground. As it is, my eyes keep wanting to pull t5he image down looking for grass. ???? Ok, I'm nuts. Still, these are some of the best fall colors I have seen.

Hello Marilyn...It is very early in the morning and it is cold and wet outside...I have been brousing through your gallery and have come across this beautiful Autumn scene...What better time of the year than to go walking in the countryside, to be immersed in a palette of amazing colours, to be surrounded by magnificent scenery, and to discover a scene like this just as the trees dress themselves in all their autumn glory.....Well done....All the very best to you Marilyn......Mick.
