This trail winds its way through old growth Sitka Spruce and thick undergrowth of ferns and salmon berry. Many people fought to preserve this valley by chaining themselves to the massive giants. It is now a provincial park in British Columbia.

I agree wholeheartedly with Joost, Darryl. This is an exceptional shot and it's nice to learn that those people won their battle to preserve this beauty. Top marks and thanks for sharing. :)

cool shot. very similar to one of the trails here, I uploaded a photo of one of the ends of it. The one here is not quite as overgrown (and of course the plantlife is much different). I like this area, the nature here is very lush.

Hey there my friend, this is wonderful as usual. I love the detail, and there is no shortage of that in this shot.

I viewed this last night and put it on my desktop. It has the perfect balance of light, it's framed very well, and I love the texture of the trail as well as the deep lush surroundings. Works for day too but it's exceptional for night viewing. ;)

I love the way the light comes through the trees, yet the bottom is still dark - kinda two level effect going on there

Beautiful. Bless those poeple who chained themselves to preserve the place. This image would look really cool in infrared if you didn't have too much warmth or sunlight. I think in this image it would be just right.
