On a recent 7 hour hike through upper Carmanah valley on Vancouver Island, I ran into this large carpet of False Lily-of-the-Valley among the giant Sitka Spruce.

Excellent in all aspects. The absolute beauty of nature. Darryl, you've really captured why we must protect our old growth forests.

I'm letting my geekiness show, but when I look at this I almost expect sasquatch to stride across the clearing. But that's just me.

Thank you my friends. Sorry to lead you astray with the name of the carpet. Upon further investigation, I actually named it wrong and haven't found the proper plant. Hehe, Anyone know any good Sasquatch calls:-0

Beautiful shot, Darryl - a wonderful capture of a splendid old forest. So they're not real False Lily-of-the-Valley, then. Maybe they're False False Lily-of-the-Valley.... ;-)

Darryl: before you come to Washington to shoot I've got to come up to BC to photograph with you. OK maybre after, which ever.

Very nice. I like the way the downed log leads your eye into the image and then gives it room to explore. Excellent, 10 here and in my Favorites.

Looks like I missed this one also when I went thru your gallery. This is beautiful. I can't quite describe the soft pastel look on those trees in the upper portion of the composition but it is shall we say graceful and elegant? Well done. What a forest.
