I'm beginning to think you grow these. I've never seen such a variety. The setting and the lighting are beautiful.

A beautiful image - I love the blurred background and the subtle little green fronds below the mushy - well done!

nice atmosphere, though it seems from the greenery as though the focus is just a little bit behind the target, no?

Thank you all for the nice comments. Anthony you caught this flaw nicely... I am heading back to this spot today to get it in the morning light. This I took late afternoon when the sun had dissapeared behind the mountains so the depth of field was very shallow. I hope that this spot gets that morning light so I can decrease the aperture and get slightly larger depth of field. Much appreciated:-)

The shallow depth of field on this one is part of its charm. The three separate striations of color really add to the overall image of the softness of the shroom. You appear to be the "mushroom king". Have you cataloged the different types, which are edible, etc?

Sorry Darryl, but even with the focal point being slightly behind the main subject, I had to give this one a 10 and put it in my favorites. (Knew it was yours even before I moused it). WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

I've gotten stricter in my voting but this one really deserves a ten. It's one of those unbelievable remarkable things you just can't get over. Looks like another faerie haunt, like 'Trail Lamps'.

I like the focus, too--makes it fuzzy and misty and faerie-forest-ish and very, very beautiful.

You've done it again, Darryl.

This is suuuch a good photo. The trails of blue water and green foliage above it looks so good and add dimension to the photo. This is probably one of my favorites if not my favorite of all.

I love the subtle light in this image. And the way the background is blurred almost gives the impression of a rainbow to me :) Another one of Mayne's Magical Mushrooms! Thanks for sharing! ;)
