Thanks go to Piner for his great lightning photos. The enormous energy of lightning breaks nitrogen molecules and enables their atoms to combine with oxygen in the air forming nitrogen oxides. These dissolve in rain, forming nitrates, that are carried to the earth and feed the plants. Photoshop manipulation;-)

Normally I'm not a manip fan...have enough trouble just making photos look decent. But this is really nice work, both visually and as symbolism. I love the water on the grass and the angle looking up through the grass at the lightning. Darkness multiplies the drama.

Well Darryl, if you hadn't been honest, I would have thought this was an actual shot of lightening as it happened! Your creative juices were flowing full strength when you did what you do so well with these images. :~) The comment was way cool also. You are still on the ground, but now you are looking up!! hehe (ref. to 'shroom shots!)
Excellent manip & into my fav's on my HD! Thanks again my friend :))

Your manip. left a feeling of unreality to the pic, but not too much, just enough to make it more magical.
I'll give this one a niner, would've got a ten if you'd shown as the original too, now it is hard to judge how much manip. has been done and how well has it been done.

very nice perspective, since usually lightning shots are taken so all you see is lightning and maybe water. were you hiding in fear behind the bush? just kidding. i love the dewdrops and the haziness of the lightning that is usually crisp.
