Beautiful shot Darryl. I love your waterfall shots. Especially these mossy ones. Not a site I see often living in the desert. Beautiful job, thank you for sharing! 10/10 and into my favorites :)
Dang, man. You definitely live in Gods' garden and are blessed with the ability to see and capture the beauty there. Well done, my friend. 10x20. And in my favs too.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.
Albert Einstein
But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.
Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

---Gas smells awful; You might as well live.

I agree, great colors. I can definitely see the rainforest quality that you mentioned earlier coming out in this shot. I wouldn't have thought that things would grow so densely that far north, but then again that might just be my bias as a southerner showing :)
Can you spell SATURATION? Somehow I think the color was there in the scene, and wasn't gotten from pushing a slider in Photoshop. As others have noted, it snags that rainforest quality of dark, wet, cool and ancient. Was this film + scan or straight digital? If the latter, RAW or jpeg capture?
Hi Darryl, this is magnificent!!!!! What natural beauty you have captured!!! Indeed, it has a heavenly quality about it, almost seems unreal. I wish you a very Happy and Holy Christmas Season. Incidentally Darry, My "Red Roses" made it to the top of the ladder up there with you and other greats. I nearly fainted, being as inexperienced as I am. It made my day. Voted as one of the "Top Ten" will probably be a one time thing, meanwhile, how much fun!! Sincerely, Marilyn
Just a question: is the blue color in water natural? or is it the result of a manipulation.
Very good composition (as always!), but the blue is a little disturbing, IMHO :-)
I'm really into goth rock and new wave. My favorite band is The Birthday Massacre. The guy in my avatar is, in fact, a guy. His name is Mana from the band Malice Mizer.
I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings:
And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not.
Yet so the universe was wrought .
Thought is another name for fate.
Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
This is one shot wherein I don't mind the 'blur' of the falling water. Your, or I should say, my eye was fooled as to the size of the actual 'falls.' After viewing it for a while and actually forcing myself to be a bit more objective ... it was in noticing the leaves that I then realized that it is and was, indeed, a 'Small seasonal creek.'
I am wondering if you were 'pulled' in a few directions as I felt in viewing it ... do I want to see more of where the water does fall? ... do I want to see more of the originating point of the creek? ... hmm, really don't want to lose those moss covered logs from the image ... and so forth. There is some 'conflict' in the photo and I use that word loosely.
Still, the composition is good. The colours ... well, wow sums that aspect up. This scene would be worthy of a series, done by you, of course.
Again, thanks for sharing.
p.s. Generic? Hmm, don't think so ... was that a bit of an inside joke, lol.
