Mmmm...yummy sushi! Another neat capture Darryl. Detail is crisp and clean, colors are sharp and vivid & the tummy of this character is now full! .....I particularly like the gradient borders. It makes the water seem to flow very smoothly into the edge. There is not that abrupt stop where the borders begin. Kudo's my friend. Thanks :)

Agree with Mimi, especially about the borders, they blend nicely and do not distract the attention from an overall great image.

LOL Darryl, you know that the seagulls here look differently?
Their faces are very different. I will have to get a picture and send it to you when I can.
Great shot.

I love your timing here, catching the ripples and the dripping treat. Perfect shot and exposure. Oh, and this is what sushi was meant for!

A beautifully clear shot, and the framing sets off the lighting and water perfectly.

Herring gulls are common where I live, but this is an uncommon pic...

Hi Darryl. Of course your choice as AOTW made me visit your gallery again, and I found this unlikely picture. I like the feeling of becoming, of tension in this picture. The gull looks defensive, almost as if you had disturbed it, and it felt you were threatening its meal. The freshness of the fish is obvious from the dripping water. The framing is excellent, too, and is what originally attracted me to this image. By the way, I didn't know you had such a lense. 640mm? Oy! The best I can do is a 150mm. The Olympus lenses of that caliber are over $1500, and the wife and I just bought a house (brfore Hurricane Kitrina - what luck!)

Also the color fade is very attractive, and seems to ease the viewer into the scene. You can expect to see it in my future works when I have images that need to be cropped similarly. By the way, congratulations on being selected as AOTW.
