Can't always give individual thanks but I am so appreciative of everyone's comments and input. I truly enjoy seeing all of your posts and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks, Anita
Like the title. It really applies. I believe this is one of the better captures of lightning I have seen. Awesome. I like the hint of some straggling sunset colors on the far horison. This is a keeper.
Excellent.

Truly outstanding, Darryl! You've captured several streaks of lightning and two that even seem to collide, perhaps it was the same streak? Apart from the streaks, which really are what make the photo, I really love that there's some color in the sky and some definition and details in the clouds.
Darryl, this has to be one of the best lightning captures I have ever seen. The perspective is awesome and the colors give it an otherworldly appearance. This is a true winner. Favs and 10.
Wow - stunning lightning shot. It looks like the lightning is being spit out of that glowing part of the cloud - and it looks like it struck something. Well captured powerful view. Stormy heavy leaden clouds - bet there was alot of rain. Darryl, the angle is very good and I like the long wet road. The purple and pinkish shades are lovely. Super good photography job..Thanks :*)
Wow! What to add to these comments and the photo has only been up for an hour? The wet road, dark, ominous clouds, lightning and hint of sunset sky in the distance make for an unbeatable composition. Hope to see in VB. It's a '10' in my book.
Excellent post. I just love the sky, it must have been quite an achievement to capture it this way... Just the horizon and the sky... The colors are wonderful too. I like the fact that it's a bit dark, it adds a sense of mystery. Awesome shot! Well done and keep them coming!
I was going to say i see you ventured over the border again, but looking at your profile i see you have moved across the border. This is quite a shot. The setting sun and the very interesting ligthning work very well together. Any secrets on keeping your camera dry?
What a capture Darryl! The colors in the sky and the clouds add to the intensity of the entire image. The lightning bolts are so clear and finely detailed. What impressed me the most is the fact that the ground is illuminated by the lightening and that you captured this as well with your camera. I am impressed. :=) It appears as though the move was good for you & your camera & that rusty shutter finger you had !! Right to the favorites on the hard drive my friend. Kudos to you :~)
The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking. - Brooks Anderson
Well, I was hoping to sit here all day and pound the keyboard in an attempt to thank you all individually, but I realized the day was half over;-) Thanks my friends...I actually sit in my car with the drivers side window on the lee side of the wind to avoid the rain. Anyone have an old A&W tray I can buy lol.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

Picture Purrrfect .
A purrrfect world is what we all want, but, seems too unobtainable. If I've viewed and commented on your post, and you liked my remarks then NO THANKS is needed...just getting to see your wonderful work is thanks enough for me!!
Also BIG thanks to all who check out my work!! I appreciate any and all comments & feedback!!
Oh my the detail in this is just something else! I LOVE IT. Not only because I am allured by storms, but also because you have captured so much in this one shot- from the power of the angry storm opening up the clouds to express its anger via lightening as well as the textures of the wet ground and beautifully colored sky. WOW!

what a weekend of natural phenomena you've witnessed. isnt alberta great?, now you just have to move down to the right half of it :P, and whatever you do dont get mixed up with any edmontonian teams, that would just be bad news
How lovely it is when unexpected blessings come into my life to cheer me up and put a smile into my heart. Help me to pass them on, dear Lord. Fay Angus
Well goodness me, the heavens opening up to cast out some fire. The lightning is so crisp I can almost hear the static and snap that goes along with it. Beautiful colors and I like that you also captured the watery ground and not just sky. Makes it more believeable and real. Well done :)
Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.

You remember the great fire from 1979 that supposedly started in your garage where that chipmunk ingested some fertilizer and fell into a can of kerosene, instantly turning into a flying little fluffy little molotov cocktail that set a blaze leveling the whole neighborhood west of Newton's Hardware Store?
Well Darryl, it finally looks like I have some competition in the lightning category. Great shot. I assume that you used a long exposure to capture this?
Wow! The contrast is amazing. The red to the purple white looks great. The reflection off of the falling rain is crazy good, and the glow is amazing. The lightning and the ground reflection also look great.
Darryl, that is probably the best lightning shot I have ever seen. I can even see curtains of rain lit up by the lightning. I expect you got a buzz getting that one :-)
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority.
