Long undies, sweat pants with a hole in the crotch, an old blue Sunice ski jacket and frequent trips back into the car to warm up some frozen digits. The remote release was kinda like a coat hanger so much for minimal camera shake;-)

Oh wow Darryl...I think I like this one even better! What a capture as the comet streaks through the twilight sky. The colors are so intense and the focus seems to be sharper despite the hole in your crotch and a coat hanger to squeeze :))
Good work in those harsh conditions my friend. Well done.
This is my new desktop!!! Thanks for giving it to me :;=)

I know a lot about comets as I have read [some time ago though] a book by Tove Jansson "Comet in the Valley of Mummi" or so ...
The comet made the world look red because it was red itself too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Cool capture. What part of the sky can this be seen in? I'll have to try to look for it. Well done.

The last comet I tried to see was Halley's comet when it came through back in the, what , '70's? I recall sitting in the Bonnet Carre spillway swamp for hours before dawn being eaten by mosquitos, waiting for the famed comet to make its appearance, only to be disappointed. After that I heard people talking about how brilliant it was in the night sky, and smiled inside because I knew they were lying. I'm glad to see that comets are real, and you can prove it :-)
