While hiking a gorge in Jasper National Park, I looked up atop the wall to see a Bighorn sheep looking down. Deciding I wanted a closer look, I doubled back and found my way up the slippery wall to a plateau of lush green and to my surprise two male sheep. There they were, laying down chewing on the veggies. As it started to snow heavily, they stood and shook off. I had my shots and headed out keeping an eye for any movement in my direction. What a handsome fella! A nice angle you used for this capture. He's eyeing you - and that is an wonderful pose he gave you. Good blurred background showing all this guys good points. The snow coming down adds a pretty touch. Nice clarity and fine details of this sheep. Those horns are most impressive. The colours are natures best, and I like the pale green trees as the background. This is a beauty and a keeper. My thanks Darryl :^>

I love the eyes looking your way. This was a recent shot, was it? The snow really gives this great environmental appeal.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Wow Darryl...what a capture my friend! I love the snow swirling about the bighorn as well as the blurred background which showcases the animal's horns so well. The way he is standing next to the bushes with the clearing behind him allow the viewer to see the hooves of the magnificent creature! Very well done and already residing in my favorites. Thank you for sharing this fella with me ;=)

Curious to know what camera and lens you got this with. Awesome capture. Those eyes-perfect. The snowflakes are almost as much fun to study and view as the ram. What a image. It's a keeper.

I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings: And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not. Yet so the universe was wrought . Thought is another name for fate. Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.

That’s a magnificent shot Darryl. The sheep’s? Posture suggests that it’s ready for flight or fight. The snow gives an atmospheric effect that I’m not likely to see in this part of the world and the background is a perfect fit for the sheep. Impressive indeed.
