In Skógar Folk Museum one of the old grass-shingled houses was set up as an old workshop. I don't know the exact purpose of this tool, but it has to do something with spinning.

Very nicely detailed study of this unusual subject matter. Good colour and composition too. Well done.

Mia, the subject is extremely interesting. The older I get the more I like old things! On top of that, though, how you shot this is very pleasing. The background is dark and out of the way and the light on the wheel is very appropriate. Well done! - Patty

Maybe it's used to twist the sheep's wool into thread? Who knows... but it is a great shot. I like the antique feel of it.

Yeah same as smoosh..it unravels the sheeps? wool onto the spool, ready for it to be knitted....I suppose it would be hand knitting too!
Nice capture............

Thank you all for your nice comments and feedback - I really appreciate your taking the time!!
I searched Wikipedia for spinning wheels and such stuff, but didn't find anything matching, so I think it is just for winding up the finished wool.
