This image was taken about two hours after Arnarstapi Harbour - the weather in Iceland changes rather fast... It turned out a bit darker than it really was, but I liked the ominous feeling.

Mia dear.
Perfect idea [thus congratulations !!!] to set this pure white church building against ominously dark sky. Such white constructions must have either deep electric blue background or such as yours !!!
And the church building IS lovely ...
Many thanks, dear friend !

This is wonderful! What a surreal effect of the bright building against the threatening sky.

Thanks for bringing this piece of architecture to us. I found it in the voting booth this morning, and couldn't get over the contrasts of color and texture, not to mention the form of the building and the rough grey rocks surrounding it. Some on is to be congratulated on their keen sense of style, and you on your ability to present this in such a wonderful way.

Well isn't that an interesting piece of architecture. I think what I really like is the white against the dark sky. I've never been to Iceland, so this rather intregies me. Thanks so much for sharing! Wonderful shot!

Hello Mia. How good to see you post again. This is a beautifully composed picture as well as subject matter. The architecture of this church is breakingly beautiful and it appears so pure white against the stormy sky. The hill and rocks that the church sits upon add such great depth to the capture. This has gone right to my favorites. I find it very intriguing as well as beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with me ;=)

What an amazing building, you would think it would look out of place on the rocks, but it doesnt. I love the nature, the architecture and the sky behind is simply stunning. This is a very nice picture, and going straight into my faves.
