Only wish the sky was entirely grey; that blue sky seeping in, for me anyway, takes a bit away from the picture. The Middle Ages are always tainted in history books by the horrors within the feudal system.

Other than that, enjoy the picture a lot. Great castle and foreground. Just the sky seems to me like it shouldn't have so much blue -- though maybe that's just how I interpret the title. :>

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile. Art is everywhere, except it has to pass through a creative mind.

The slightly ominous outlook is quite appropriate given the title. It’s a fascinating building but I’m pleased I don’t have to pay the heating bill:-)

Its so intriguing, Ive been searching for photos of castles, because I want to "outline" one on a painting I am trying to do on canvas. Such architecture..wow...I love the sky...the drama of the gray and the "life' of the blue!! nice one!

Hi Michel. This is my preference of your two castle shots. I like how it's composed with the curved vegetation line and the fact it's a tad lighter so I can see the detail and charm in the architecture. Nice shot. ;)

Hi Michel, my what a glorious photo laden with history and stories to tell! How very ancient it seems! Renaissance, medieval are the words that come to mind when I view this image! I am not a history major or buff, but I can only think how exciting it must be to have such wondrous architecture to photograph! I am vey curious about one thing though, why have you only posted two images? You must offer us many more and please do! You have much to share Michel! Sincerely, Marilyn

This went straight to my desktop! I love the blue sky peeking through the clouds. The shadows are wonderful. They way you've composed this with the hedges leading the eye straight to the castle is great!! This is a wonderful shot. I wish we had this kind of architecture here. It makes for a fantastic subject!

The placement of the castle is lovely, and the storm kind of looks surrealistic. I can actually feel the wind just by looking at the image. The colors are also beautiful. Gorgeous job!

This does not appear to be a middle age era structure, at least architecturally. It seems to be more from around 1700-1800s. Does anyone know for sure the date of this building? Beautiful shot, however.
