This little darling is a dog I photographed at an animal shelter in Los Angeles. He still needs a home. You can't imagine the gratitude and devotion that a pound puppy will bestow upon its master and friend. If you ever think about getting a dog, please consider adopting.

You're a hero to pound puppies and strays. Our lab was a starving stray when he was found and rescued. I couldn't ask for a better pet.
Consider rescue groups too, as well as pounds.

Nice photo, too.

A very high impact shot. Well done for taking it. Photographically speaking, a shame that the focus was not quite right. It is focused on the bars above the dogs face. If the dog (especially the eyes) had been in sharp focus, it would have been a great image and an important message. If you take similar scenes with all the elements right, it will be a 10/10 winner, hopefully with a happy ending....!

A moving shot indeed. It certainly tells a story. I have 9 rescues myself. This little one is in my prayers tonight. Although this makes me a bit sad, it is reality...thanks for sharing, very well done !

Pictures like this can be heartbreaking... I hope and pray this little one finds a home with people who will love him to pieces... We rescued our little Maltese from a breeder who had bred her three times and wanted to find a home for her 'retirement' years, or else it was the pound for her. She's a little sweetheart and we love her to pieces.

Thanks so much for all of your comments and for the photog tips. I can see how this could have been perfect if the dogs face was clear. I'll definitely try some more shots.
