Taken in the tropical butterfly conservatory near St. Louis. This bud was busy drinking in the fresh watering that the staff had provided. All comments and critiques are welcomed. Enjoy :~)
Now this is a great shot. The subject is well placed in the image giving great visual dynamics. The exposure is just right, revealing the textures even in most of the brightest areas, you made the most of the lighting settings here. The white flower stands out from the lush green background. DOF is an important factor here too. This shot would not have been as interesting and pleasing to the eye if more details of the background were present. Yet the lines and shapes of the vegetation in the background add much to the dynamics in the whole. Spot on.
** For the next few weeks, I will not be Commenting as much as I should, I Will be looking at ALL of your Picture posts...I apologise from the bottom of my heart for this...Things should be back to 'normal' after the holiday period**
Dear Mimi, my goodness, this is truly beautiful, "the birth of a flower", is dramatically appealing! The colors of lovely soft mint green with the darker green background is so attractive! I love this image! It symbolizes a new life, the beginning of something new and exciting as in human life, so very pretty! I am also attracted to the simplicity of the image, as we often hear the expression, 'simplicity is beauty'!!!! I can think of so many wonderful thoughts that come to mind while viewing this very pleasing photo! It's freshness, it's vitality, all blend well to complete a very well presented image, and the photographer makes it all happen, you know!! Your images are all beautiful Mimi and all seem to have a softness and a touch of femininity added with lends further to the beauty of your images! Good job, well done Mimi! Sincerely, Marilynn
Beautiful job, Mimi...I really must learn to use this camera properly one of these days and stop flying by the seat of my pants, then maybe I can turn them out like this...everything here looks perfect to me...well done.:Pat.
Absolutely beautiful! This bud is so perfect appearing in form. The dew adds to the beauty. The pure white looks very pleasing against the lush green background. Wonderful capture - You are blessed with the ole green thumb, it looks like. Thanks Mimi :*>
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

Wonderful close-up, all details are in focus and crisp. The blurried background enhances this delicate looking beauty. I'm delighted with this picture, Mimi and... I can't praise this high enough. Into my favourites it goes.
I have seen and viewed this one many, many times. It is one of my personal favourites of the images in your galleries.
Here, you really did elevate a photographic image to 'pur' artistry. And in trying to keep with the simplicity and beauty of this piece ... I will stop here.
Ok, ok ... after I say this ... thank you for sharing this one. :o)
p.s. A most fitting and aptly titled image. 'K ... I'm done.
