Can you tell I was trying to distract myself today and was out shooting pics of the flowers that we worked so hard on growing and also trying to teach this old dog some new tricks with my camera. All comments and/or critiques are welcomed here. Thanks and enjoy ~:)

You have captured this flower in a nice angle and composed it good too. If the background was a little bit dark the yellows will stand out more.

Wonderful color and pinpoint focus, Mimi! Is that a Gazania? Whatever, it certainly is cheery on a grey day.

Hi Mimi, as was mentioned above, that missing petal, adds character to the daisy, substance as well! The deamenor of the flower has now changed! When we look at the missing petal, we then view the subject with a more tender perspective, one that requires that we see it as softer in it sea of beautiful green! These colors of lemon yellow and lovely green are stunning! Good job, and I bet your newly placed garden is lovely, I am so glad you are enjoying it now that the hard work is finnished, right? I hope so!! We will talk soon! Sincerely, Marilyn

A little something? I just don't tolerate with such modesty! You either shoot out of passion or you don't shoot at all! Photography is about seeing things others can't see. --- I guess every girl goes through a photography phase. Hi Mimi, I would surely like to know what you're shooting with and what the circumstances of the day. Despite the contrast of bright sunlight, the image has great detail. It's sharp and crisp and the colors are brilliant with only a slight loss of detail in highlights. Don't know if that's straight ttl technology or some post enhancement. I would tend to go for a larger aperture (if shooting with an automatic the macro or close up icon) to blur the background more. However, the foliage has a uniform enough density and color that it isn't a distraction as is. The composition is fair but I might try a couple things just for kicks and grins. You can actually do this in your computer as a test or even use your hands to block. Try looking at the flower cropped tighter within the frame - even to the point of cutting into some petals if necessary. Then try looking at the image with the flower cropped more to the right of the frame since it's "facing" the sun to the left. This will lead your viewer's eye more naturally. Although I think the best bet is centered with a tighter crop. For a DT image, it's perfect - the foliage around the edges will help center it nicely on the screen. Nicely done and thanks for posting. anne

I've been absent from my friends at Caedes for awhile. Have been busy shooting, writing, learning, and mostly being humbled. I'm back and I look forward to viewing and sharing again. Blessings, anne :-)

Hello Mimi....Brousing through your gallery I have come across this very fine picture....You have made good use of the light and the detail is very good....I also like the way you have filled the frame with your subject, that is nice...I have to say this picture is a pleasure to view....Well done Mimi....All the best to you....Mick.
