I have been spending time in PhotoShop :o)..whew!!!
I am determined to learn a thing or two....maybe! lol
Hubby liked this manip out of all that I did.
Please critique. I can't learn if you don't help me :=)
I am not a fan of photoshop at all. I have always felt the test is in getting the photo right yourself. But having said that I do really like your manip on this one. Nicely done!!!!
It looks like a program Randy and Mark use Mimi. I like it and it makes for a dreamlike look. I too thought it should all be done with the camera, but todays camera's colors are more dull than the old ones. They need bumped a little.
You husband has good taste. After all, he has you.
What a feeling of nostalgia looking at those roses! I'm not sure what you did, but it is beautiful. Muted tones remind me of several things at once... those old decorator soaps at my aunts house... an antique painting at a great grandmothers...
: )
Wow, Mimi, I applaud your efforts with PS, but I'm not sure this manip is for me. One of the main reasons I don't find it as appealing as a straight photo is the color. I'd much rather see the soft pink or peach and the verdant greens. It is a good comp, so I'm sure your effects will be enjoyed by many.
I like the soft crinkliness Hilda and I think you did a good job. Critique..well if I am honest I'm not a fan of the pre-set 'effects' in PS. I guess I think it shouldn't be immediately obvious what effect has been used, and it is with a lot of them. But experimenting is all about learning - this might be useful toned right down (on a separate duplicate layer, with the 'opacity slider' adjusted) to add texture. Keep playing!
I think you are definately on the right path, this is very artistic. I do prefer photos myself as well, however if your goal is artsy, you hit the nail on the head. This is beautiful! Amazing what photoshop can do!
