This is in the blue morph family of butterflies. This one is the type that will frequently "hitch" a ride on your shoulder while you are wandering through their home. 8th in the series! ...enjoy & thanks :~)

Blue is one of my favorites, and this one sure is beautiful. Looks like it's enjoying you capturing him on your cam. Great shot from the artist. Keep 'em coming Mimi!
I tried like crazy to get one of these guys during my trip to the Butterfly House, Not one of 'em would settle long enough to shoot. I'm so jealous. But it appears that I've caught one here. :P
in in love!! me and parents went to a butterlfy conservatory and tried to get some pics of them, man its hard! maybe beacuse of all the people, they flutter around all the time and dont settle down for very long. nice pic!!!!
I love the shades of blue on the butterfly, though i would've liked the picture a bit more if there had been different colors for contrast. I'm not too fond of the dark shade of green of the leaf, but it's a very beautiful butterfly.
Having snuck up on many a B-fly and come away without a shot (what? .. I bathe) .. I regard this as an accomplishment .. I picture it like the BIG trout in the stream .. they didn't get to be that size by being careless
If .. there were other forces at play here .. like, you were playing Vivaldi on the stereo or the wild african hibiscus was in bloom rendering him drunk and unable to move from its fragrance ..

Note to self: Avert eyes from Keith's postings until you, yourself have commented, lol. Funnily enough though, I was thinking that exact same thing.
More or less. ;o)
On a more semi-serious note ... ahem ... I am somewhat aware of the difficulties in a successful 'capture' of these glorious and colourful creatures. To have done so, as you did here with this image, is no small feat apparently.
Add in the fact, that compositionally the image is quite strong and yes, I am thinking you and nature must have conspired ... once again ... for our viewing benefit. Nice work.
Perhaps you will revisit this series again and provide us with some more? Take your time, check your schedule ... 'we' will be here when you decide to do so. ;o)
