I came across a nest with three baby sparrows just a few days old. I got the mother's permission to photograph this hungry guy as she nervously watched over me. Experimenting with a new Tokina 100mm F2.8 Macro D lens. As always, thanks for looking and leaving comment. Best viewed in full.

You got a very nice and sharp macro shot Doug. You are lucky that the mother gave you permission. Normally they are rather reluctant.

Sensational shot of this baby birdie! I think it is still to young to know all the words to the song, but I bet it sounds pretty good anyway. lol. Wonderful photography, Doug.

Superb shot of this young bird displaying its natural instincts of chirping and displaying its gape.
I've heard them all Spring, but never actually seen a nest. So, well spotted and happy that you made the most of it!

Wow what great details you captured with that new lens Doug and I'm quite sure you had to shoot fast with a nervous mother sparrow around!

I am so glad mombird gave her permission. You must have a way with the birds :)

Wow, outstanding close up of this little fellow, not even the eyes are open yet. Hopefully she didn't dive bomb you, but at least she gave you permission

I'm not familiar with the song; could you hum a few bars? A great close up on the nestling, Doug. Very nice details in the photo.
