This shot was from when we camped at Lac Sante, Alberta. I kept the water ripples by the shore in the shot only for its texture.

[A comment request brings a non-photographer to critique that of which said non-photographer is wholly ignorant...]

This is a lovely sunset. The image has a wonderfully tranquil, calm feel to it. It suggests stillness of being and of mind at the end of a long day, surrounded by gentle movements and sounds of the non-human world and a soft cooling of the summer heat.

I like the inclusion of the ripples near the shoreline and, especially, the plants there. I would even not mind seeing a little more of this, since the top parts of the image are not the most interesting parts of the sky in any case.

There does seem to be something in the sky that's distracting me. A shade left of centre a little ways above the cloud, grey. It doesn't look like a cloud, though it might be. I thought I just needed to clean my screen but it seems to scroll with the image, so I guess not. Is it meant to be there? Not saying it shouldn't be, but just curious, really.

Otherwise, this is very nice.
