This is the Opupa Falls - 180km from Opuwu - Namibia. There are many of thos smaller waterfalls coming out everywhere, forming bigger streams futher away. When looking at it from here, it's looks like a real oasis in a desert. A inviting green patch with lots of water, in a otherwise very dry area.. Enjoy the stop before we continue with the tour......

This is surely a welcomed relief to all of the animals! How strange that it exists, though! Well photographed and so detailed! Another super image on this tour!!

It is hard to work out exactly just what scale the waterfalls are Marietha! but it is a very interesting landscape - nothing like I have seen before. I am sure it was an incredible sight with all those falls. Patti

Those waterfalls are quite unusual. But I find out in this tour that some places in South Africa are really unexpected. Thank you, Susan & Marietha. :)

No no no ... this will never do. Perhaps the wild inhabitants roaming the plains find this place idyllic ... but as for "moi" ... I'm afraid I was spoiled rotten at the "oasis" shown at "Botswana Tour #7". You know the one I mean ... the "Club Med Spa". Very nice posting though for the "Hoi Polloi". ( "Oh James fetch me another bottle of Evian ... there's a good fellow" ) Carry on my good Lady your doing well.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

I found this very interesting. What a place of plentiful water is doing in that dry, arid looking background is amazing. It made me get up from my seat and go get a drink of water.

That's sorta a "trick shot".
Took me a minute to "get my bearings" as to how big of a shot this encompased!

I'll just sit here a minute and sip on a Fosters....when you're ready to continue the tour, let me know. Otherwise, I'm fine right here.....

I think I could use a cool drink before we move on. Some interesting vegetation here too. Thanks.

How interesting the landscape is Marietha. The ruggedness and then the waterfalls to add to the beauty. It's a magnficent post and I'm so glad you shared this one.

It is a tricky photo at first glance. I had to study it for a while until I realized as others have said, just what the scale of this is. I'm wondering why we get to take a break here all alone with no animals around. It seems to me it would be a rest stop for them as well, as the land and vegetation as seen in the distance looks mighty dry and parched to me. Perhaps you shooed them away? lol...great shot :)PJ
