Well, I've got a couple busy bees, so here's a sleepy bee ;) I went out to my car this morning to head to work and noticed these huge fuzzy bees sleeping on my lavender, at least I think they were sleeping, I'm not sure if bees sleep. Anyway, I thought they were cute and were much easier to get a pic of ;) I really appreicate all of your comments, thanks so much and have a wonderful weekend!

I'm wondering what type of bee this is. It sort of looks like a bumble bee, but it doesn't look yellow enough. But you sure caught it beautifully! Great colors and focus Carissa!

Great shot Clarissa, wish you could come here and make the ones under my shed go to sleep lol. This is a beautiful close up indeed.

Wonderful capture Carissa. You were lucky to get two bees at once ... great colors & detail also.

Best wide-angle lens? Two steps backward. Look for the 'ah-ha'. Ernest Haas

You sure got a nice one here. The colors are really good, and the focus is spot on. Excellent composition, Carissa.

I love the clarity, detail, and title of this shot! It's fantastic! The sleepyness of it makes me lose my fear of bees! haha one thing i would like to see is the subject a little more offcenter. Great shot!

Very good view of the bumble bee, good clarity too,the photo is very good.I also noticed bumble bees on lavender and some of them can hardly move,it is as if they are sleeping but they work for several hours during the day so they must be tired.

B's turn into Z's when they are sleeping. Beezee's they call it. They have a little nightcap, generally a stinger and call it a day. It is a great shot of a bumble bee enjoying some down time. Good post Carissa.

If you'd been collecting pollen all day you'd want to catch 40 winks wouldn't you? Great shot of both bee and flower.
