Tranquility reflected. Yellowstone Park. As you walk around the steam pool the reflection turns from a deep emerald green to sky blue.

Yeah, this was one of the deepest surface pools that I saw in Yellowstone. Especially when you looked in the portion of the pool that was reflecting green light. The same pool from another angle, looked completely bright emerald green.

But words are things, and a small drop of ink, falling, like dew, upon a thought produces that which makes thousands, perhaps millions think and smile.

Gorgeous colors! Is this a geyser pool? Very nice capture, the pool fills up the bottom of the image nicely. Any idea what happened to all the fallen trees in the background?

Thanks Rebecca. Yes the pool is in the geyser pool basin at Yellowstone. The trees in the background were burnt down during a forest fire a few years back. These fires happen frequently at Yellowstone - many caused by lightning. Of interest, the current decision is to let these fires burn out naturally rather than to extingish them as suppressing fires seems to reduce the number and variety of plant and animal species!
