This little fellow landed on a fence on the edge the water boardwalk at Pismo Beach, California and proceeded to go through a wild dance back and forth across the beam - ending in this bow! It was unbelievable.

That golden glow from the sun on it's backside is for me what makes this image stand out to take a well deserved bow. Sorry I missed the rest of the show. I'll bet that was entertaining. favs. Thanks.

This was a great shot in any lighting but this lighting makes it outstanding. I think you should take a bow.

Wow, great shot, and as tris notes, the lighting only makes it better. I'm guessing this bird was either doing or practicing a mating ritual. Lots of bird species have "dances" they go through to attract mates. On the other hand, it IS California, and maybe he was auditioning.
