Created by me, edited by my roommate Blake. Created with MS Word Equation Editor and Paintbrush. A great big sarcastic "thanks a lot" to treefallin, who joined Caedes just to point out that there are, in fact, two equations that are incorrect. :-)

Ahh! A mystery... which one is untrue? Very good idea I like it... and being that I love math =) I especially love this one! Not that I know what any of that stuff means yet ;) I will someday!!! Good one. into the faves.

i find it very sad that i know what most of it means...and i don't have quite the same enthusiasm as Emily above...I'm currently trying to find the one...{dang you for doing that} lol

LOL! I'm glad I struck a bit of a chord. The false equation is the simplest one; it is a little difficult to read, though... The title is a nod to to Tom Lehrer. Enjoy, and thank you all so much for the interest. :-)

I like it! My inner geek thinks it is a pretty cool and original idea for a desktop....though it would be a bit more realistic and easier to read if the lettering was solid white (or a light grey, if white is too bright). :c)

The work of art may have a moral effect, but to demand moral purpose from an artist is to make him ruin his work. (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - 1832)

Thanks! Yeah, my first attempt was to keep it a dark gray, which was excellent, except it ruined some of the details. I considered increasing the resolution, but being that I did this in Paint and my max monitor resolution is 1024x768, it would have been a real pain. So, it is what it is. I really appreciate your input, because I'll take these things into account next time. :-)

Well, not exactly... I put it in the "Et cetera" category, but it got moved and I don't think I can change it.

You are correct. I may do a new version of this soon, increasing the resolution and the contrast. I was surprised that this was accepted so well.

There is another incorrect equation. Lower left quadrant, the cosine series expansion is wrong. Check table. :)

Well, you got me. I was about to major in mathematics, but I guess I have to give up on that now. Good eye, Mr. Treefallin, but it worries me a bit that you actually did notice that. At least the first 3,300 people accepted my word as truth. :-)
