A male Purple Finch among the blossoms. Often confused with the more common House Finch. The Purple Finch is larger in size and more deeply colored in rose red. One Bird Guide describes this bird as appearing to be a "Sparrow dipped in raspberry juice". A description I found to be quite accurate.

Mmmmm, apples and raspberries, a delightful thought! Such a delightful little bird too. I don't think I've ever seen one of these, but I'll know one when I do now! Fantastic.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes
