This Great Blue Heron was the first thing i saw when i got to the river. He was also the last thing i saw when i left. He sat in that spot for the 4 hours i was there. A lot of Gators and canoes passed by but he just sat there watched.

I really love this one! He looks great posed in all of the green. He still has those lovely mating plumes and details. Wonderful work!

Four hours! Okay the bird was meditating - what were you doing Ed - Don't fall asleep on the banks there! That can be dangerous! :) Wonderful shot of the heron with great clarity. Very nice!

Nice shot, Ed.

Good composition, good natural colours.

Think ... think, that is ... as thinking is not one of my strong points :oP ... you could easily and readily sharpen your image here some, given the quality of the base shot.

For your consideration then ... High Pass Sharpening. (<--- For Photoshop, and there are tutorials for other image editing programs/software available on this method.)

/\ All towards the ends of delineating the heron and foreground leaves, a tad more. A tad.

Oops ... just had another thought, perhaps for future consideration then?

Consider a vertical format.

Annnnnnd ... thinking cap off. (Yeah, yeah ... I know ... lucky you. :oP)

It is a nice shot, make no mistake about my words above. And but of course, thank you for your diligence and patience. You were rewarded and so are we, your viewers. :o)

I think it is your best one to date Huck. I can't seem to get very close to them. I think maybe I better quit drinking gatorade. It must put of a certain aroma when I sweat. I know, a picture I didn't need to paint. I am glad you painted this one for us. Stupendous.

They are amazing birds to watch and this is a good shot of him. I do think it could be sharpened just a bit, but it's a well composed image of him. =^..^= sandi ♪

Beautiful shot of the heron surrounded by green... maybe he feels that if he stays perfectly still people will mistake him for a stump...

This is a brilliant shot Ed! I like the way the Heron doesnt seem to know you are there and so you have caught a very natural pose. Well done!
