I took this last spring with my old camera. "Note that my old camera is a point and shoot" I had to get uncomfortably close to this guy. It was still a little cold outside, so he was moving pretty slow. =)
Too up close and personal for my tastes Nessa. I would have used a point and shoot too but it wouldn't have been a camera. :) Actually they don't bother me if I know they are there.

What kind of snake are we talking about here? A good job getting in it's face with your camera. Nice details in the scale pattern and good focus and dof in your photo. I like the low angle of the shot and the angle in the photo. It could use a bit of lighting perhaps on the snake's head to bring out some more of the details.
Whoa Nelly!! That's a scary shot...at least for those who hate snakes, but I am not one who does. I had a huge Boa Constrictor around me once at a zoo. Fantastic clarity on this shot, Nessa.
