Alright folks, I got my Canon Digital Rebel XT (EOS 350D) today...I like it a lot so far, it was worth the wait!! I took a picture of some bricks at my house then manipulated it in Photofiltre...I'm really pleased at how nice the detail was on all of the photos I took!

I have the same camera! :) You will love it! Jerry aka DigiCamMan has same too...so I am sure he has pointers for you if needed? { Volunteers Jerry.....slips a 10-spot}...:)

WOW! The quality of the image is nice. Yup, it was worth the money. For a second i thought the bricks really were blue (took me a while to realize..had to read the comments).

I think it's missing something, like a focal point - maybe put one brick (significantly different from the others - in color, texture or any other way) standing on the others and drawing the attention of the eye. The depth is pretty good here and it has good detail in the foreground. Overall, nice shot!

I can see that new cameras working for ya, excellent shot love the abstractness of it. The blue is a nice refreshing color compared to the natural red.

Nice use of the depth of focus.. looks very crisp.. i like the look of this camera already. I am really looking forward to your upcoming pictures with your new camera.. i know i will certainly find it easier to comment on the images. I agree there isn't a clear subject.. but the pattern & textures throughout the image.. are interesting enough.

It's so weird.. And that's what makes it so nice :D I don't know about your camera so it may be just your canon's fault but I would have used just a little "deeper" focus.. uhm sorry I'm not english so I just try to put it somehow.. I mean that now there's the focused area on the left just where it should be but i would have liked to see just slightly more focused detail... Sorry but I just felt that I desperately wanted to complain about something :P

seriously though. i agree with .frenger, you should have had a focal point there, cause its on the rule, or, used a deeper focus
