Great shot. You caught the sun at the right time hiding behind the cloud. I have been to southend once. The Red Arrows were having an ariel display. Great day!
The shafts of light illuminating the sea is very good. Once again you have establised a strong horizon separating the sky from the sea and strong contrasting colors. I also liked the word "Visit" on the left of the shot, as if we would ever need incouragement to look and visit one of your works!
nice composition and wonderful light! can tell you didnt take that recently as i know what you mean by grey skies obviously , and why there is a lack of postings on my part lately! i like the inclusion of the pier and the rays of light! (ive almost forgotten what sunlight looks like) haha.
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Glad you looked through your archives. This is great and what a perfect way to end a day. Love the rays from sunlight. It looks like they're trying to see to the depths of the sea. I too like the Visit sign on door. Thanks for inviting me. Very good post.

I like this one a lot! love the way the sun is filtering through the clouds shining on the water and reflecting on the building! not easy to capture so well ...and the composition works really well! +fav this one!

Well, you've been told all the things I would have said, if I hadn't been so darned enarmoured of the fall colors around here and out taking shots, but I'm here to repeat the accolades and I sure hope that I get this in the voting booth.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
before i comment on this one may i thank you for all your positive comments on my work.i haven't got a good camera and i'm in no way a technophile so i'm at a bit of a disadvantage.i'm used to getting extremely low c-ratings and comments such as yours lift my spirits.this image of yours is suprb;razor sharp.not only is it good compositionally and has excellent clarity,to me this image "speaks".by this i mean it radiates symbolism.there seems to me to be an obvious link between the weather-beaten old aerial and the sky radiating light from the sun.i have made this one of my faves because it is not your average "sky"picture for the above reasons.it has RESONANCE.keep up the good work, simon.
Hello Nigel....This really has a dramatic feel to it Nigel, The bright area in the sky and in the water provides balance to the building....Well done Nigel....All the best to you....Mick.
