One of many temples I visited in Petchaburi. It was quite remarkable in that I only saw two other westerners the whole day and I had the temples entirely to myself. Apart from a few monks and a lot of stray dogs at this one that is. Beautiful isn't it.

Sounds like a wonderful experience Nigel! ....amazing statues ...and all that gold!! It's an excellent capture! - that huge statue at the back just lights up the whole of the photograph!

I did a little googling and your photo looks so much better than the one they have. Love the colors. Gold is one of my favorite colors. lol Looks like you got most everything in the shot. Let's see if there are any Sacred Cows out there to vote. Good one Nigel.

Great shot, Nigel. It's interesting to see one of their temples. They must have passed the collection plate a few extra times to pay for that.

The lighting on the gold is perfect! I downloaded to HD just to be able to blow up and check the details and your image holds up very well under close scrutiny. Great comp, Nigel, and very interesting subject matter.

It is the shine and texture of the gold which impresses me too. It is wonderful to see this sight, which many of us will never get to see in person.
