I was up and out early yesterday morning. I took advantage of the low tide on the Thames to get to this viewpoint, which is pretty much under Tower Bridge. I came home happy, until I realised I'd left my camera on ISO 400 the whole time. So this is probably much noisier than my usual stuff but I liked it anyway. I've just about stopped kicking myself!!

~Trying to visualise Nigel kicking himself ?~

Did you use a wide angle on this mate?...seems the buildings are gearing up into a point

I like the venue, and the way you captured it all!..

it's a cracker of a sky too!

My eyes do not detect any noise. The sky looks great. The skyline is super, but I am wondering what that torpedo shaped building is. Very unusual. It has a futuristic look to it. The water front is beautiful, also. If you hadn't mentioned that this was London, I wouldn't have known. Great job, Nigel.

I see no noise, as Nelson might have said! Again Nigel, you specialise on taking pictures from unfamiliar angles. Most shots of the London skyline are taken from some hight, this is from water level and is great. I really like the juxtaposition of the ancient Tower with The Gherkin (which is Delia's favourite building at the moment).

Very beautiful shot, lovely cityscape, great framing, and I don't detect any noise either. I hate when that happens, usually for me I take a photo with it still on macro, lol!

You captured the early morning feel perfectly, Nigel, in spite of the high ISO. There's a special softness you've given London, both with the light and the lack of hustle-bustle. A fine shot, and I love your perspective.

YES! YES! YES! Love it! Love the angle, the sky and cloud formation are just beautiful, and having two of my favourite London landmarks in the picture (The Gherkin & Tower 42) is just a bonus. I like the way you've got the rocks to the left of the picture too, giving a good sense of perspective to this picture. Your camera certainly done well on ISO 400, the noise is absolute minimal (so minimal I can't see any!) Have never seen London from this angle before, and this is the top stuff that I'm coming to expect of you Nigel! Into faves it goes.

You may now officially stop kicking yourself. It turned out great and judging by the comments above, I am not in this camp by myself!

Let's see what we can do with this one....

If you're still kicking yourself then you're doing better than me, I would have fallen over the first time I tried:) This is a genuinely beautiful image Nigel and you've captured one gorgeous sky. Kudos for the early rise too!

Thum time I'd like to thit on the banks of the Thames and think. Do you think I'm inthane. Great capture and the only noise I detect is your squawking about the ISO. They left years ago. Oops, it was the USO. Never mind. I had to fave this one because it's so good. Love the sky and the water. The skyline in the middle completes the sandwich. Perfect Sir Nigel.

To me this is one of the interesting views of London I have seen on this site, and there are quite a few. I like the low angle, I remember you had another one taken from water level that I also liked, I think it was with the Tate Modern, but you have since taken it out of your gallery. On my screen I can't see any noise by the way, but to be nit-picking there is a bit of halo, especially noticeable around the gherkin and the tall building on the left.

Hello Nigel....I particularly like how you have not let any of the strong elements dominate the scene, so everything balances out nicely. Good exposure...Well done Nigel....All the best Mick.

Wowzer..this is a gorgeous shot of ol' London town! Such pretty colours, and the skyline is perfect. I love how this takes my eye to the rocks first and then the sea onto the shore and up to the buildings and sky. What is that funny rocket shaped thingie?
Never saw that before. But I was only 10 yrs old the last time I saw London!! Verena

What a good day to get up early and capture so many good shots Nigel - love the sweep of clouds across the sky - the city is waking up - you can feel the freshness of the day - unless I have a good imagination, but I can! :)
