I'm really glad you posted this picture. It's not only a nice shot of all the huts, but that sky is fantastic. I love the moss on the wall again. Nigel, this is a work of art. Beautiful.
Nigel, this is simplicity at it's best! Some nice colours going on here, great composition and I love those white bubbly clouds. The big patch of blue sky adds perspective too. However, what really makes it in this picture for me, is the way the railings of the steps lead the viewer into the picture, and this in my opinion really makes this picture something. Not only does your city work inspire me, but pics like this do too, and there just happens to be some beach huts near where I live, and the sun is shining.....hmmm!!!
What a great sky. Looks like it's coming up to see what's going on. Like the huts. They look more like storage sheds. Judging from all the different designs and colors, I'd say they were privately owned. You do nice work for a "City" boy Sir Nigel.
Love the straight on view, everything just flattens out in front of those glorious puffy clouds! Cors are great. Do you have your shoes off walking along in the sand for this shot? You can almost will the season to hurry and warm up.
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
Huts have the right to attend the sea too:
Yep! They fought for it in the 40's! Dozen of them roaring at the london bobbies: "we gotta fight for our right to got to the seaaaaaa!!!".
The bobbies were so frightened by those hut strikes that they were yelling "hut! hut! hut!" when things were getting nasty. That is why nowadays an american football quaterback annouces his strategy shouting "hut hut hut!".
Huts do not like it, so now when you shoot'em with an american camera - Yeah Nigel I know you got one, don't say the contrary, we all know it here at caedes, hush now, hush I said - huts show their butt for the photo.
nice!! very nice composition with the steps and the moss, and all those huts!! i have never seen a place with so many huts, the ones near me are tall with legs and steps up to the doors and many different colours! that sky is wonderful too! good stuff.
The lighting is superb - a most wondeful shot. I can see it all btw full screen - nothin chopped off.
I have to ask - what are the huts actually for - do people stay in them?
