I don't know if you can see it, but Paradise Found is the name of the yellow hut. As requested by Jan, here's my version of the beach huts at Southwold taken on our day out together last Saturday.
I commented on Jan's image that this was as quintessentially British as you can get. It's somewhere to change (heaven forfend that a stranger might catch a glimpse of exposed flesh); somewhere to shelter from the rain ("It's definitely getting brighter over there, isn't it?") and somewhere to set up your little stove and make a cup of tea (" Ooh, there's nothing like a nice cup of tea, is there?").
Love this shot, Nigel. They are so cheerful, especially the one with the sun-burst decoration.

I was looking at this one and going over the reasons why I just loved it... the colors, the perspective, the apt title...but I knew that wasn't quite it. Then I realized...it was so very British, as braces said above, with the cloudy sky. I grew up on the beaches of Oregon, and while we didn't have beach houses, we definitely had that cloudy sky and the hopes that it would clear up soon. Great pic!
This is nice Nigel!...Love the perspective and lines in this!
Colours are natural ...I won't say it's better than Jans cos I might get a thick ear next time I see her!...lets say equality entertainment eh!........
greyhound in a cossie richie?? lol, more like a killer whale, i didnt see a greenpeace boat offshore to rescue me hence i stayed fully clothed and (almost) on land!lol
i like this one, your colours came out brighter than mine, i guess you sneaked that one in on the rare occassion the sun came out before 5pm, :-) nice composition, i like the name of your hut too, and i like the blue and yellow stripey hut, i didnt take any shots of that one, good job you.
Well sir, what you call huts over there, I call mansions over here. Of course where I live, social status is based on the amount of food stamps each family gets. LOL. You English folks sure know how to paint. All kinds of bright colors, and all mixed up even on the same structure. Over here, we just slap a coat of white, powder blue, or yellow on everything. Gets kinda boring. I really like this shot, and the angle at which you took the picture. Fantastic job, Nigel.
I love pictures of this type of hut - this is a very well done one with such clear and bright colours.
Great pride must be taken in their upkeep - although I have to admit I do find the whole idea very strange - did it evolve from the Victorian changing machine thingys I wonder.
sorry if i don't comment on each of your pictures. to those of you who comment so often, i can't imagine how you get it done! i for one am always extremely grateful for the kind comments and suggestions that you make.

Part of what makes a good archetecture photograph imo is how square and straight the lines are. It can get more difficult as one changes the perspective, in this case a low angle shot. It can be mitigated by ensuring the camera is level and using the right lens. Along with the very good composition, colour and details you have achieved the nice sharp, straight and natural look. A good work all round.
