A view of Lake Windermere (in the far distance) from the top of a fell in the Lake District. I know you won't expect me to know which one. It was somewhere in Cumbria anyway. Samsung GX-10, Pentax-M 28.0 mm prime lens (43.0mm equivalent), aperture mode, aperture f22, 1/4000 s, ISO 100, white balance daylight, exposure compensation -0.5, metering centre-weighted average.

Wonderful lines leading us through the countryside from one focal point to another. I understand that we can see about seven miles into the distance, limited by the curve of the earth's surface, but being that you are up high, You've probably added a bunch of miles to the view. Nice subtle colors and excellent exposure. Beautiful landscape.

Your patience is well worth the results Sir Nigel. You have captured the essence of why you post. Your use of light in the journey has been worth the walk. I think you are looking at where you are headed into the rarified air reserved for a special few photographers.

I wish I had your patience, but then I would need your skills.
Excellent post. This is beyond my capabilities.

Holy guacamole, that's a great shot. The depth is fantastic and the whole scene is just plain breathtaking. (I won't mention how dramatically wonderful the sky is.) My compliments on composing this masterpiece, Nigel.

I love the way you composed your shot with that stonewall so firmly anchored in the corner. Very nice work bringing out the true depth of the shot, too. With digital photography, you don't always get what you see without doing additional post proscessing. The view here is outstanding, Nigel.

Like the way you have positioned the shot with the rocks leading to the next line of trees in the distance. There to be led onto the curvature of the lakes. This is a far ranging shot indeed. Nice work Nigel.

3 things stick out big time for me here which make this a W.H. (that's for wall hanger)

One, love the rule of thirds here, foreground, mountains then clouds. Second, the way the pic fades from dark to light from bottom to middle, then light to dark from middle to top, and third, of course, the lead in line with that stone wall!

Brilliant Nigel, enough said!
